Importance of leaders

Why are leaders important in the society?
  • Initiate action- A leader initiates action by communicating the vision, policies and plans to the subordinates and this forms the basis from where action starts.
  • Motivation- A leader motivates the employees with economic and non-economic rewards to encourage the subordinates.
  • Providing guidance- A leader offers guidance and supervises action by the subordinates on how to perform their work effectively and efficiently.
  • Creating confidence- a leader explains to the subordinates their roles and gives them guidelines to achieve the goals effectively. They also hear the complaints and problems from their subbordinates.
  • Building morale- A leader acts as a morale booster and assures full co-operation to their subordinates to enable them perform with best of their abilities
  • Builds work environment- A leader nurtures appropriate work environment in terms of human relations and infrastructure
  • Co-ordination- Leaders reconcile personal interests with organizational goals through proper and effective co-ordination
